Fortunately for you, Dr. Patrick McBrearty from McBrearty Soft Tissue & Sport Chiropractic knows exactly how to attack and treat an injured quadriceps muscle. To make an appointment with Dr. Patrick McBrearty and his staff, please call us at 330-491-0381 or visit our website at www.yourartdoc.com. We look forward to seeing you in our office.

Out of all the muscles in the human body, the quadriceps muscle is one of the strongest muscles. As its name suggests, there are four muscles that make up the quad. So when assessing and treating this muscle you must have a strong background in anatomy and physiology to know which particular muscle to treat. Typically if you’re having trouble with the quadriceps muscle there is a possibility of more than one of the muscles that need treatment. It is possible that only one of the muscles needed to be treated initially, however, depending on how long you’ve waited to treat one of the other muscles could have been compensating for the injured muscle. Depending upon how long it compensated for that muscle it is highly probable that that muscle also needs treatment. It is very wise to find a health professional whose skills align with what you need to be treated.

How painful is it to have your quad pain treated? Honestly, it is very subjective from patient to patient. Not only does each patient have a different pain threshold, but depending upon how severe your quad pain is will depend upon how painful it is to have your quad worked on. Even with that being said, don’t be discouraged about the pain that you may experience while in our office. We will work with you so that it is a manageable experience when being treated. We understand that being in pain is not ideal and we promise to do everything in our power to make your experience pleasant.

So what can you do while waiting to be seen by Dr. Patrick McBrearty at McBrearty Soft Tissue & Sport Chiropractic? One thing you can do while waiting to be treated at our office is to ice your injury if you are feeling severe pain. Icing your injury will curtail the inflammation and allow for the healing process to begin. Please do not place heat on your injury if you are still feeling intense pain in the area. Heat is only for injuries that have overcome the inflammation process. Placing heat on an injury that is extremely inflamed can be similar to throwing gas on a fire. If you are unsure about what to do please consult our office immediately.
